About Mike Kalisz
Mike is a sixteen year old resident of Massachusetts who has been playing the piano since he was 5 years old and performing onstage since the age of 7. Studying
piano with the late Ted Milos of DeRossi Music School in New Bedford, he has received numerous awards at local and state music competitions including the New England Music Festival.
With his love of music, Mike began playing piano by ear before taking formal lessons. He has also taught himself to play the drums, accordion, keytar and guitar. In addition, Mike enjoys composing and recording his own music and adding his unique vocal skills to the music he plays. When not making music, he can be found playing high school football.
Mike is an honors student in his Junior year of High School. In middle school, he was a member of the National Junior Honor Society, the church Youth Group and excelled in the annual Science Fair; receiving awards at the local, regional and state level each year he participated as well as a special recognition award during his graduation ceremony.
Mike has performed throughout Massachusetts with the bands "Pure Sarcasm" and "Zero Gravity" along with the trio, "Sugar & Spice" and is now the keyboardist/vocalist for the up and coming band, "PUSH 4171".
In June of 2010, he performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston where he was selected as the winner of the Music On and Up Showcase and returned as a special guest performer at their most recent Showcase event at Boston's Hard Rock Cafe. Mike was selected as one of seven Green Rocker Ambassadors and has been performing at schools and events throughout New England promoting green initiatives.
He recorded his first single entitled "I Wish I Didn't" at thirteen and is now back in the studio with the band, "PUSH 4171".
